DOUBLE CITIZENSHIP FOR CHILDREN OF BOLIVIAN PARENTS
Children born abroad of a Bolivian father and / or mother have the right to obtain Bolivian nationality.
This condition is formalized by registering the children before a Bolivian consular representation. Those interested should present themselves before 1:00 pm to schedule an appointment or by calling 202-232-4827 if you already have all the requirements.
REGISTRATION OF CHILDREN UNTIL 12 YEARS OLD
- Birth certificate of the minor, original and APOSTILLATED by the corresponding Secretary of State.
- PRESENCE of the minor at the Consulate at the time of registration.
- PRESENCE OF PARENTS ESSENTIAL
- Bolivian parents
- If both parents are Bolivians, with your current identification document.
- Foreign Mother or Father
- The presence of both is ESSENTIAL.
- Bolivians: Carrying your Identity Card or Bolivian Passport, not necessarily valid.
- Foreigners: Carrying your Passport or Identity Document.
- Bolivian parents
- Translation of the Foreign Birth Certificate. Cost: $ 20
REGISTRATION OF CHILDREN FROM 12 TO 17 YEARS OLD
- Birth certificate of the minor, original and APOSTILLATED by the corresponding Secretary of State.
- PRESENCE OF CHILDREN ESSENTIAL
- Presence of children under 12 to 17 years ESSENTIAL.
- Bring 3 passport-sized photographs with white background.
- PRESENCE OF PARENTS
- Bolivian parents
- If both parents are Bolivians, with your current identification document.

REGISTRATION FOR OVER 18 YEARS OLD
The birth registration of persons over 18 years of age of a Bolivian mother or Bolivian father abroad will be requested by the holder and must submit the following documents:
- Original Birth Certificate APOSTILLATED by the Secretary of State.
- Identity document that proves the identity of the holder.
- Identity card or Passport or original Birth Certificate of the Bolivian mother or father.
- Identity card or passport or original identity document of the mother or foreign father (if applicable)
- Translation of the Foreign Birth Certificate. Cost: $ 20
