HUMANITARIAN VISA

It is free and is granted for 30 calendar days, for the following humanitarian grounds:

  1. Need of international protection covered by the Principle of Non-Refoulement
  2. Victim of human trafficking or other forms of exploitation
  3. Being companion of a ill person requiring medical treatment

WHERE TO APPLY?
You can apply with the Bolivian Consulate in Washington, DC only if you reside in one of the following States: District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and North Carolina.
If you do not reside in one of those states, you have to apply with another Bolivian Consulate, depending on where you live in the United States. For that information you can check your nearest Consulate: New York, Miami, Houston y Los Angeles
Incomplete applications will be returned without being processed. There is no expedited option, please plan accordingly
IMPORTANT
Please scan all the required documents (#2 to #6) before you begin your application. Processing time is of 10 business days, starting when we receive application, payment and actual passport.
TIPs
  • Make sure the information in the Sworn Statement is the same as in the passport.
  • Make sure all the requirements listed above show the name of the applicant.
